Arsenal set for striker search

Arsenal are almost certain to make a move for a striker this month after losing Nicklas Bendtner was injured in their 2-0 win over Cardiff City, according to the Metro.

With Olivier Giroud also side-lined manager Arsene Wenger is desperately short of fit forwards ahead of their FA Cup third round clash against Tottenham Hotspur, which takes place at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon.

Bendtner was the Gunners hero on Wedensday afternoon, coming off the bench to give his side the lead on eighty-eight minutes, while Theo Walcott put the result beyond doubt in stoppage time.

The result keeps Arsenal top of the Premier League, a point ahead of Manchester City, who won at Swansea City and a further point ahead of third place Chelsea, who beat Southampton.

The North London club return to league action with a trip to Aston Villa a week on Monday, and are priced at 8/15 to take all three points.
