Arsenal step up chase for Audero

According to a report from Sky Italia, Arsenal are very interested in signing Emil Audero. The 22 year old goalkeeper is currently with Sampdoria on loan from Juventus, where he has already made quite the impression on the top half team. He has also appeared for Italy at the under 21s level, and given his age, he seems like someone who could be a top prospect for the future. The Gunners are said to be targeting him as a replacement for Petr Cech, who is set to retire at the end of the current campaign following a successful 15 years in the top flight of English football.

The big question is whether or not Audero would be happy sitting on the bench, which is likely where he’d end up for at least the next year or so courtesy of Bernd Leno who currently occupies the number one spot in goal for Arsenal.
