Arsenal’s Katie Reid will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.
The Gunners confirmed on Monday that Reid suffered the injury during a training session ahead of their 1-1 draw with Chelsea in the Women’s Super League last weekend.
Reid will now undergo surgery to repair the issue in what is a huge blow for the 19-year-old, who had made a strong start to the campaign.
The defender has made six appearances in the WSL this season for Renee Slegers’ side, who sit fourth in the standings and six points adrift of leaders Manchester City.
Reid was deputising at central defence in place of injured Arsenal captain Leah Williamson, who has missed the start of the season with a knee injury sustained at Euro 2025.

This ACL injury is the third to be sustained in quick succession by an Arsenal player at this early stage of the season.
Michelle Agyemang, who is on loan at Brighton, suffered the same issue while on international duty with England during a 3-0 win over Australia last month.
Goalkeeper Manuela Zinsberger also injured her ACL during a training session while preparing for a Champions League match against Benfica in October.
