Aspas helped Celta sign four players

Speaking to Radio MARCA, Iago Aspas revealed he helped Celta Vigo sign four players this summer. Apparently, Denis Suarez (from Barcelona), Rafinha Alcantara (loan from Barcelona), Santi Mina (Valencia) and Pape Cheikh (loan from Olympique Lyon) all arrived to the club thanks to the striker’s involvement.

Last season, Celta were happy to secure La Liga survival, but this time around their aim is much higher – they are hoping to land one of the spots leading to European competitions. Aspas described his club as humble, working hard on bringing these “great players” in, in which he himself lent a hand – in some cases more so than others.

Aspas wasn’t called into action with Spain during the latest international break, but he is certain that Robert Moreno will give him a chance. He feels he needs to work hard and keep his form up in order to make it difficult for Moreno to choose from the many high-quality options at his disposal.
