Aston Villa could be forced to sell Morgan Rogers in the summer transfer window if they are unable to secure UEFA Champions League football for next season, according to Football Insider.
Journalist Pete O’Rourke said: “Look, it’s going to be difficult for Villa long-term to keep hold of somebody like Morgan Rogers.
“I expect him to go to the World Cup with England and play a key role over in America, so there are going to be a lot of eyes on him.
“If Villa were to miss out on Champions League qualification, it’s going to make things difficult due to their financial situation. We know that Villa have had issues over the last couple of seasons and they might have to sacrifice a couple of players.
“But in that respect I think Morgan Rogers will be the last player they would want to sacrifice, because he’s a key man for Unai Emery, but they will look to offload other players before entertaining offers for Rogers, and he’s under a long-term contract until 2031.
“Some of the big clubs in the Premier League and across Europe will be ready to test Villa’s resolve in the summer to see if Rogers could be prised away with the offer of Champions League football if Villa don’t have that to offer to him.
“But as I said Unai Emery is planning on keeping Morgan Rodgers and as I said Villa would demand a huge fee and don’t have any plans to lose him.”
