Aston Villa have announced the signing of Yasin Ozcan from Kasimpasa on a pre-contract agreement.
The centre-back will remain with the Turkish Super Lig team for the rest of the 2024-25 season before joining Unai Emery’s team at the start of the next campaign.
Ozcan enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2022-23, making 19 senior appearances for Kasimpasa. He scored his first senior goal that season at age 16 years and 276 days, becoming the youngest goalscorer in the league that season.
He has since gone on to make 77 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig, including 21 this season. Only Mamadou Fall (1,775) has played more minutes among outfield players than Ozcan (1,761) for Kasimpasa in the competition.
The 18-year-old has also been capped by Turkey at Under-21 level, making 12 appearances.
