Atletico aim to keep Griezmann

As the season draws to its close and the summer transfer window approaches, stories, reports and speculations regarding the future of Atletico Madrid‘s star Antoine Griezmann are becoming more frequent.

The French attacker has been heavily linked with the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United, but now the Mirror claim the Madrid club will do whatever it takes to keep him at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium. Griezmann signed a new deal only last summer, but now it seems the club are willing to offer him wages surpassing £300,000 per week in order to persuade him to stay.

Diego Simeone himself recently signed a new contract at Atletico, and the Mirror say part of the promise to the manager was that the club would fight to keep Griezmann.

It will not be an easy task, as Barcelona see the player as the main piece of the puzzle for rebuilding their team, but Atletico will do their best.
