Atletico Madrid eye Tottenham duo Romero and Bentancur

Atletico Madrid are interested signing Cristian Romero and Rodrigo Bentancur from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, according to The Times. Spurs are having a disappointing season and are in danger of losing two of their best players this summer.

Romero recently revealed that he would love to play in LaLiga. While Spurs have opened talks with Bentancur’s agents over a new deal, there is no guarantee that those negotiations will be successful. The Argentina international centre-back and the Uruguay international midfielder are entering the prime years of their careers.

Tottenham are set to finish in the bottom half of the Premier League table this season. The North London club, though, could end up playing in the UEFA Champions League in the 2025-26 campaign if they win the UEFA Europa League this season. Spurs have reached the semi-finals of the European competition.
