Atletico Madrid keen on Dani Ceballos

La Liga high flyers Atletico Madrid have rekindled their interest in Real Betis starlet Dani Ceballos, according to Sport.

Diego Simeone had attempted to recruit the talented midfielder in the summer, but los Colchoneros could not find an agreement with their league rivals.

But, with Ceballos largely struggling for first team opportunities this season, Atletico Madrid are readying a fresh assault.

Diego Simeone sees the 20-year-old as a good long-term replacement for veteran midfielder Tiago Mendes and he will attempt to agree a deal in the January window.

Atletico Madrid are banned from recruiting new players until January 2018, but they want to wrap up the deal at the earliest opportunity and would then loan out the player for a year, possibly to his current employers.

Dani Ceballos is widely regarded as one of La Liga’s hottest prospects, but he has yet to realise his full potential.
