Atletico want to sign Morata permanently

According to a recent report from Marca, Atletico Madrid are very interested in the possibility of making Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata’s loan move a permanent one. However, they want to hold off on triggering his £48 million release clause until next year, as that will allow them to free up cash so that they can improve their squad during the current transfer window. Morata himself has noted how much happier he is with Atletico than he was during his time with Chelsea, and the striker will seemingly be relieved to learn that the feeling is reciprocated.

The Spanish side are aiming to make a real push for the La Liga title next season, in order to dethrone Barcelona. As well as Barca, it seems as if Atletico’s city rivals Real Madrid are on the hunt for the championship after a poor season last time out.

Either way, it’s a good day for Alvaro Morata.
