Barcelona have been looking for a new striker, one that would eventually become a long-term replacement for the 32-year-old Luis Suarez. Luka Jović of Eintracht Frankfurt has long been on their radar, but according to Marca, they are now ready to shelve those plans and look for alternative solutions.
The Serbia international’s father recently revealed that Jović wouldn’t be interested in moving away from Frankfurt, and even if he did, Barca aren’t prepared to go through a bidding war against the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich to land him.
Instead, they are contemplating four options in Marcus Rashford of Manchester United, Rodrigo Moreno of Valencia, Nicolas Pepe of Lille, as well as going back in for Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann.
The Frenchman had an offer to join the Catalans on the table last summer, but at the time he decided against the move and signed a new deal with Atletico.
Meanwhile, journalist Guillem Balague doesn’t believe Barcelona will reignite their interest in the World Cup winner.
