Barcelona are interested in Kai Havertz of Bayer Leverkusen, according to reports in Germany.
Speaking for Bild recently, the 20-year-old midfielder confirmed he would be staying at the BayArena this summer with words that can hardly be any clearer, expressing a strong belief that that’s the best place for him at the moment. He did, however, suggest that he might take another step in his career next year.
His statement put an end to rumours that had been linking him with Bayern Munich this summer. Further more, he says he doesn’t know whether his next club will be Bayern or some other, or if he will indeed be staying in Germany at all.
With the likes of Sergio Busquets and Ivan Rakitić being 31, Barcelona are keen on adding young, talented midfielders to their ranks.
Apart from the the La Liga champions, Champions League winners Liverpool are apparently interested in Havertz as well. Meanwhile, Leverkusen have made it clear that they won’t be letting the Germany international go for anything less than €100 million.
