Barcelona looking to raise €120m through player sales

Barcelona are looking to cash in around €120 million this summer by selling some of their unwanted players, according to Sport.

The Catalan club believe they will be able to achieve that goal even without moving on the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Ivan Rakitić or Samuel Umtiti.

One of the names on the list of potential departures is Malcom, the winger they signed last year from Bordeaux with a controversial swoop under the very noses of AS Roma. Even though he hasn’t been given much chance, the club deems him a big disappointment and will be happy to let him go for the same amount they paid for him – €41 million.

Goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen has reportedly expressed his wish to leave as he has no chance of displacing Marc-Andre ter Stegen between the posts, and Benfica are apparently interested in his services. His buyout clause is set at €60 million, but Barcelona would apparently accept an offer of half as much.

Rafinha and Denis Suarez both wish to stay at Nou Camp, but they will be aware that their game-time would be extremely limited.

The contract of Thomas Vermaelen is coming to an end and he will leave for free.
