Barcelona still want Willian

Barcelona are still pretty much interested in signing Willian from Chelsea, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Brazilian has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Stamford Bridge, and though Chelsea are expected to offer him a new one with manager Frank Lampard very keen on it being done and the situation resolved quickly, it hasn’t happened yet. Barcelona will try to take advantage of that and are ready to start negotiations over his arrival in January, when he’ll be free to talk to clubs outside England in order to agree a summer move.

The 31-year-old winger has been on very good form recently, which is the main reason of Lampard’s desire for a new contract to be signed. Nonetheless, the La Liga champions will be hoping that the lure of playing in a Blaugrana shirt alongside Lionel Messi will be enough to turn the tide in their favour.

As for Willian himself, he recently said he was relaxed about the situation, despite not receiving a new contract offer yet.
