According to Spanish publication AS, Barcelona are contemplating the possibility of selling goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen and replacing him with Gianluigi Donnarumma of AC Milan.
Donnarumma’s contract will expire next month and there has been no agreement with the Rossoneri on an extension, with agent Mino Raiola conducting business in the 22-year-old’s name. Raiola has apparently contacted Barcelona, offering Donnarumma’s services in the case Milan miss out on Champions League football next season.
At the moment, Milan are third in the Serie A with 76 points, the same as Napoli in fourth, and one more than Juvenuts in fifth. However, they play second-place Atalanta away this evening (Sunday) in the final round, and they must win to ensure they stay within the top four.
Barcelona are in a difficult financial situation and are looking at every possible way to save money. With four years remaining on Ter Stegen’s contract, they should be able to get a decent fee for him in the summer market and then sign Donnarumma as a free agent.
