According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Spanish giants Barcelona are gearing up to offer Lionel Messi a lifetime contract with the club. It was recently revealed that Messi can leave the club at the end of the season due to a clause within his contract, but despite that, the La Liga champions seem pretty confident in their ability to keep the best footballer on the planet on the books – as you can probably imagine.
His current deal is set to expire in 2021 but they are attempting to convince him to sign an extension, which will ensure there is no expiration date. Messi has never really seemed all too interested or invested in the idea of leaving Barcelona, and if that’s the case, then it seems as if he probably won’t even hesitate before deciding to sign.
Either way, it’ll be interesting to see how the next few months play out.
