Barcelona want Angel Gomes?

According to recent reports in England, Barcelona are said to be monitoring the progress of Angel Gomes. The youngster is currently approaching the final year of his contract with Manchester United, with the belief being that he is open to the idea of moving elsewhere during either this or the next summer transfer window. Barca haven’t exactly been shy in the past when it comes to voicing their desire to sign young players from around Europe, with a notable example being Gerard Pique. While there’s absolutely no guarantee of Gomes having the same kind of success that Pique did, a move to the Nou Camp certainly wouldn’t be a bad place to start.

The two clubs met in the Champions League earlier on this season with Barca running out comfortable winners, but that probably won’t make much of a difference to negotiations one way or another. Or, at least, it shouldn’t.
