Bayern join Rakitić chase

Bayern Munich have joined the race for the signature of Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitić, according to Sport.

The Croatia international has been linked with departure for a while with Inter Milan being mentioned the most, and recent reports claimed he wouldn’t be renewing his contract with Barcelona before the end of the season. Further more, not only that he has been promised a pay-rise included in the new contract, which at the moment doesn’t look likely to happen, but with the club securing the services of Ajaxs Frenkie de Jong for next season and still in pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain’s Adrien Rabiot, the future at Camp Nou doesn’t seem very inviting at the moment for the 32-year-old midfielder.

However, Barcelona would apparently want over €50 million for his services despite his age, and head coach Ernesto Valverde wants him to stay.

Apart from Bayern, Manchester United and Juventus are also reportedly interested.
