Real Betis have begun talks to sign Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko on a permanent basis, according to Sky Sports.
Sky claim City had agreed a £16million fee with Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier this month, but the deal fell through as the player decided to stay and fight for his place in Pep Guardiola’s team.
Now, however, it seems things have taken another turn regarding his future. It had been reported in Spain that Betis were initially after a loan deal for the midfielder but the reply from Manchester was that it was not an option. The 2018 Premier League winners are only interested in a sale and demand a fee of £15million to part ways with the 21-year-old.
Zinchenko made a total of 16 appearances for City, all last season, after spending 2016/17 on loan at PSV Eindhoven and their reserve team. Before moving to England in the summer of 2016, he played two seasons for Russian side Ufa.
