Two sides who find themselves battling it out at opposite ends of the Ligue 1 table, PSG will make the trip to the Stade Francois Coty on Friday night.
Starting with the hosts, while AC Ajaccio might have shocked many across France last season as they clinched a famous Ligue 1 adventure, Olivier Pantaloni’s men know that they’re tipped as one of the leading contenders to be hit with an immediate second-tier return. Despite stunning Marseille earlier in the month as they clinched a stunning 2-1 win on the road, Ajaccio have continued to show a string of worrying issues in front of their own supporters. Last seen at the Stade Francois Coty getting hit with a 3-1 drumming against Clermont, Pantaloni’s side have lost each of their previous four showdowns on home soil by an aggregate score of 8-2.
As for the visitors, drawing a line under their three-match stalemate run last weekend, PSG will be looking to lay down another marker on Friday night. Last seen grabbing a 1-0 victory at home against Marseille, the French heavyweights are tipped as a landslide pick to defend their domestic crown this season. Making the trip to Ajaccio holding a three-point buffer over the chasing pack, new boss Christophe Galtier is yet to see his side suffer a single matchup since opening the 2022/23 campaign. Likewise, appearing to cruise their way to the knockout stage of this year’s Champions League, PSG also have a string of attacking superstars at their disposal. It should also be noted, picking up a routine 3-1 victory when they last made the trip to the Stade Francois Coty back in 2014, it is hard to see anything other than a similar outcome here.
