Competition: Saudi Pro League
Market: Karim Benzema to score anytime
Odds: 29/20 @ BetUS
Already crowned as Pro League champions, Al-Ittihad will travel to Riyadh on Tuesday night when they meet Al-Shabab.
Starting with the hosts, with it already confirmed that Al-Shabab will clinch a sixth-place finish this season, Fatih Terim’s men have found themselves sat in Pro League limbo for some time. However, signing off the 2024/25 campaign in the midst of a real flurry, the White Lions should be relishing a real challenge on Tuesday night. Collecting consecutive 3-1 wins against Al-Riyadh and Al-Ahli, the former Galatasaray boss should find the mood in his camp at a continued high. In fact, despite falling to a 3-1 defeat against Al-Fateh earlier in the month, that is the only Pro League loss that the Riyadh-based outfit have suffered from any of their last 12 appearances. With that run stemming all the way back to a 3-2 defeat against Al-Qadisiya on February 13th, the midweek hosts have gained a reputation for their success on home soil. Including a sensational 6-0 romp against Al-Orubah on March 13th, Al-Shabab have collected 13 points from their previous five Pro League showdowns in Riyadh.
As for the visitors, making real history this season as they got their hands on a 10th domestic crown, Al-Ittihad have underlined their status as Saudi’s poster boys. Finishing the job last week as they secured a routine 3-1 win away at Al-Raed, Laurent Blanc’s men have now won all of their previous four top-flight appearances. Getting May underway with an action-packed 3-2 victory against bitter rivals Al-Nassr, the former France boss has seen his squad suffer just a single defeat from any of their previous 16 appearances across all competitions. Notching 75 goals in their 32 Pro League matchups this season, the Jeddah-based outfit have gained a fearsome reputation for their free-scoring performances in the final third. Winning their last four consecutive outings by an aggregate score of 12-5, Al-Ittihad have also registered at least a pair of goals in eight of their previous nine matchups. Booking their spot in the final of this year’s King Cup thanks to a 3-2 victory against Al-Shabab on April 1st, Blanc’s side will be hoping for a repeat performance here.
