Competition: League Two

Market: Barrow win

Odds: 6/5 @ 888sport

Hoping to make an immediate return to winning ways on Saturday afternoon, Barrow will welcome AFC Wimbledon to Holker Street.

Starting with the hosts, after eventually getting hit with a 1-0 loss away at Harrogate last weekend, Barrow will be seeking an immediate response here. Although Pete Wild’s side might know that they face a huge uphill struggle if they are to claim a shock play-off spot this season, the Bluebirds should find the mood in their camp at a real high. In fact, on a run that is highlighted by an impressive 1-0 victory against Bradford on February 18th, the Cumbria-based outfit should be smelling a golden opportunity here. Shipping just a pair of strikes in their last six appearances, Wild’s men should also be excited by their most recent meeting against Saturday’s guests. It should be noted, when Barrow made the trip to Plough Lane on August 27th, they claimed a deserved 1-0 win.

As for the visitors, although AFC Wimbledon might almost find themselves sat in League Two limbo, the Dons are in the midst of a woeful rut. Last seen putting in a toothless display on home soil as they were hit with a 1-0 loss against Crawley, Johnnie Jackson’s side have failed to win any of their last 10 straight appearances. With that nightmare run of form stemming all the way back to January 28th, the former Charlton boss certainly finds some real pressure on his shoulders. Quickly gaining a reputation for their rather glaring struggles at the back, there is no doubt that Wimbledon should be bracing themselves for a tough trip to Cumbria this weekend. It should also be highlighted, Jackson’s downbeat squad are yet to bag a single away victory since opening 2023.
