Bitesize Prediction: Blackpool vs Derby – 30/04/22

Competition: Championship

Market: Blackpool win

Odds: 10/11 @ 888sport

Looking to sign the 2021/22 campaign off with a flurry this weekend, Blackpool will host an already-relegated Derby County on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while Blackpool might almost find themselves sat in Championship limbo, the Oranges are still enjoying an eye-catching end to the 2021/22 campaign. Last seen putting in another professional display as they claimed a deserved 2-0 win away at Barnsley, Neil Critchley’s side have gained plenty of plaudits this season. Still with their sights set on clinching a top-half finish, the one-time Liverpool coach should be smelling another golden chance on Saturday afternoon. Losing just one of their last five second-tier contests, a run highlighted by a thumping 6-1 victory against Birmingham earlier in the month, Blackpool have also largely impressed on home soil. Including a 1-0 win against Swansea prior to March’s international break, Critchley’s men have lost just a pair of home fixtures since the end of December.

As for the visitors, while Derby might have gained plenty of praise for the fight that they have shown this year, it has already been confirmed that the Rams will be plying their trade in League One next weekend. With their fate confirmed thanks to a 1-0 loss away at QPR on April 18th, Wayne Rooney’s men were also last seen putting in another downbeat display. Eventually getting hit with a 3-1 loss at home against Bristol City, the one-time England skipper has also seen his side show a string of issues on the road. Remarkably, it should be noted that Derby have lost each of their last 10 straight fixtures away from Pride Park, a run that stems all the way back to January 3rd. Given the recent gulf in class between the two sides, we’re backing a home victory here that can be found at attractive odds.

Bet: Blackpool 10/11 to beat Derby in Saturday’s Championship battle @ 888sport
