Bitesize Prediction: Bolton vs Plymouth – 07/01/23

Tom Dunstan in Betting Tips and News 6 Jan 2023

Competition: League One

Market: Over 1.5 goals

Odds: 2/5 @ 888sport

In what could be an enjoyable affair from League One on Saturday afternoon, Plymouth will make the trip to the University of Bolton Stadium.

Starting with the hosts, while Bolton might have missed out on a play-off spot last season, it appears that the Trotters are sat in pole position to claim a top-six finish this time around. Putting in a rampant display earlier in the week as they claimed a stellar 3-0 romp away at Barnsley, Ian Evatt’s men are in the midst of an extended flurry. Suffering just a single defeat from any of their previous 10 matchups across all formats – a run that stems back to November 5th – the Whites will be desperate to lay down another marker on Saturday afternoon. With 27-year-old Dion Charles now bagging five strikes in his last seven appearances, Bolton should also be excited by an eye-catching run on home soil. On a run highlighted by a 4-0 romp against Manchester United’s U21s on EFL Trophy duties last month, Evatt’s side are unbeaten in their last five contests in front of their own supporters.

As for the visitors, opening 2023 with yet another dominant display, Plymouth have shocked almost everyone across League One this season. Cruising their way to a 3-1 victory at home against MK Dons earlier in the week, Steven Schumacher’s men now hold a four-point buffer at the top of the table and are tipped as the leading promotion contender. Winning each of their last five straight contests across all formats, the Pilgrims have also gained a real reputation for their clinical displays in the final third. Racking up 10 strikes on that five-match winning run, the Devon-based outfit will also be boosted by their rampant record against Saturday’s opponents. In fact, bagging a 2-0 victory when they welcomed Bolton to Home Park for a League One meeting on August 27th, Plymouth have won all four of their meetings against their fellow promotion rivals.

Bet: Over 1.5 goals at Bolton vs Plymouth 2/5 for Saturday’s League One matchup @ 888sport
