Competition: Irish Premier Division

Market: Over 1.5 goals

Odds: 4/11 @ 1xBet

Two sides who are seeking a much-needed Premier Division boost on Friday night, Cork City will welcome Sligo Rovers to Turners Cross.

Starting with the hosts, while Cork might have cruised their way to a Premier Division return this year, the Rebel Army have only continued on a nightmare run of form. Last seen putting in another downbeat display as they slumped to a 2-1 loss at the hands of Dundalk, interim boss Liam Buckley has a real job on his hands. Opening May with an infamous 5-0 drumming at home against Bohemians, the Greens have lost each of their last six straight top-flight appearances – a run that stems back to April 10th. Showing a host of defensive issues and shipping 16 goals on that six-match losing run, Friday’s hosts have also failed to find any kind of stability at Turners Cross. Last seen in front of their own supporters getting hit with an action-packed 3-2 defeat against St. Patrick’s, Buckley’s temporary squad have collected just four points from their previous five Premier Division appearances on home soil.

As for the visitors, while Sligo might have claimed a crucial boost away at St. Patrick’s on May 1st, it appears that was just a minor boost for John Russell’s side. Last seen putting in a nightmare display on home soil as they slumped to a 3-0 drumming against Shelbourne, the Rovers have lost three of their last four Premier Division appearances. Likewise, with just a pair of domestic victories to their name since the start of April, the Reds should also be worried by a largely uninspiring record against Friday’s hosts. Despite playing out what was a thrilling 2-2 draw when they last met Cork at the Showgrounds on March 11th, Sligo have won just one of their previous five meetings against their fellow top-flight strugglers. However, in a meeting that tends to produce plenty of fireworks, it should be highlighted that Sligo and Cork have seen each of their last seven showdowns finish with over 1.5 goals.

Bet: Over 1.5 goals at Cork City vs Sligo Rovers 4/11 for Friday’s Irish Premier Division matchup @ 1xBet
