Competition: Primeira Liga

Market: Over 1.5 goals

Odds: 2/5 @ Pribet

Simply looking to extend on their sensational Primeira Liga purple patch, Braga will travel to Famalicao on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Famalicao might have eventually fallen to a 2-1 loss away at Portuguese giants Porto last week, Armando Evangelista’s side should still find the mood in their camp at a real high. Although their European dreams might have long since gone up in smoke, the former Arouca boss has seen his squad gain a string of praise from across Portugal’s elite. Marking their return from March’s international break with a thumping 4-1 victory against AFS, the Whites have registered nine points from their previous four Primeira Liga appearances. Notching 10 goals since returning from March’s fortnight interval, Famalicao will certainly be excited to make a return to home soil here. Last seen in front of their own supporters breezing their way to a 3-0 romp against Estoril, Vila Nova have won all of their last four showdowns at the Estadio Municipal by an aggregate score of 10-1.

As for the visitors, opening Friday’s showdown sat in bronze medal position, Braga are enjoying what has become a real purple patch. Last seen securing a 2-0 victory away at Estoril, Carlos Carvalhal’s men have registered 16 points from their previous six Primeira Liga appearances – a run that stems back to a 2-1 loss against Rio Ave on March 2nd. Breezing their way to a routine 4-1 romp against AFS earlier in the month, the former Sheffield Wednesday boss will be calling on his high-flying squad to extend on their flurry here. Despite settling for an action-packed 3-3 stalemate when they welcomed Famalicao to town for their reverse Primeira Liga showdown on December 16th, Braga do hold an eye-catching record against Friday’s hosts. Including a 2-1 victory when they travelled to the Estadio Municipal last season, they have lost just one of their previous five meetings. Likewise, Carvalhal’s camp have suffered just a sole defeat from their six historic trips to Famalicao.

Bet: Over 1.5 goals at Famalicao vs Braga 2/5 for Friday’s Primeira Liga showdown @ Pribet
