Competition: League Two

Market: Under 2.5 goals

Odds: 7/10 @ 888sport

In what could prove to be a low-scoring affair from Priestfield Stadium on Tuesday night, Gillingham will welcome Crewe to Kent.

Starting with the hosts, making an immediate return to losing ways over the weekend thanks to a sluggish 2-0 loss away at Walsall, Gillingham are really seeking some recent stability. While Neil Harris’ side might have enjoyed a real flurry when opening March, the former Millwall boss has seen his side win just one of their last five League Two outings. With that rut highlighted by a 2-0 loss at home against play-off contender Bradford, the Kent-based outfit have also shown some worrying issues in the final third. In fact, including back-to-back 0-0 stalemates against Harrogate and Stockport earlier in the month, the Gills have drawn a blank in four of their previous five appearances. It should also be noted, Gillingham have seen six of their last eight showdowns at Priestfield Stadium finish with under 2.5 goals.

As for the visitors, although Crewe might have claimed an action-packed victory at home against Salford earlier in the month, it appears that might have just been a minor boost for the Railwaymen. Now suffering back-to-back 1-0 losses against Northampton and Crewe over the past week, Lee Bell’s men almost find themselves sat in League Two limbo. Mustering just a pair of victories from any of their previous 14 straight matchups across all formats, the Cheshire-based outfit have also shown their own issues in the final third. Failing to bag more than a single strike in their previous seven attempts, Tuesday’s guests have also recorded just a single strike on their travels over the past month. Likewise, with four of the previous five meetings between Gillingham and Crewe finishing with under 2.5 goals, we are expecting a similar outcome.

Bet: Under 2.5 goals at Gillingham vs Crewe 7/10 for Tuesday’s League Two contest @ 888sport
