Starting with the hosts, while Internacional might have endued a public May wobble, the Brazilian heavyweights are enjoying an eye-catching recent flurry. Despite having to settle for a 1-1 draw away at Nacional while on Copa Libertadores duties in midweek, Mano Menezes’ side are unbeaten in each of their last five straight appearances across all competitions. Mounting a stellar Copa do Brasil comeback at home against America MG as they punched their semi-final ticket, the Colorado should be smelling the chance to make another statement here. Simply with their sights set on finding a route into the top-half on Sunday night, Internacional should also be excited by their continued success on home soil. Including a routine 2-0 victory against Bahia on May 28th, Menezes’ side have lost just one of their previous eight showdowns at the Beira-Rio – a run that stems all the way back to the end of March.
