Bitesize Prediction: Ituano vs Cruzeiro – 05/07/22

Competition: Brazil Serie B

Market: Cruzeiro win

Odds: 6/5 @ 888sport

Two sides who find themselves battling it out at opposite ends of the Serie B table, Cruzeiro will make the trip to Ituano late on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, watching their eye-catching unbeaten run come to an abrupt end last weekend, Ituano will know that they face a real task here. Eventually getting hit with a 2-1 loss at home against Criciuma, Head Coach Mazola Júnior finds his side firmly battling it out at the foot of the Serie B table. With many across Brazil tipping the São Paulo-based outfit to be hit with an immediate third-tier return this season, the Ferroviário have also shown some extended issues on home soil since opening the 2022 campaign. With their three-match unbeaten run coming to an end a few days ago, Ituano have now been hit with back-to-back 2-1 loss in front of their own supporters. Likewise, without a win to their name at the Estádio Novelli Júnior since the end of April, it appears on paper that Júnior’s side could be in for a long night’s work.

As for the visitors, while Ituano might find themselves battling it out at the foot of the Serie B table, the same cannot be said for a high-flying Cruzeiro. Making the trip to the Estádio Novelli Júnior sat holding a commanding buffer at the top of the standings, the Raposa have continued to impress this season. Last seen over the weekend when grabbing a deserved 2-0 victory against Vila Nova on home soil, the Minas Gerais-based outfit have won each of their last three second-tier matchups on the spin. Likewise, after winning those three Serie B showdowns by an aggregate score of 6-1, it is no surprise that Cruzeiro are tipped as a landslide pick in the promotion chase this year. With just a single second-tier defeat to their name since way back on April 19th, we’re backing an away win for the runaway leaders here.

Bet: Cruzeiro 6/5 to beat Ituano in Tuesday’s Brazil Serie B battle @ 888sport
