Bitesize Prediction: Luton vs Bristol City – 15/03/23

Competition: Championship

Market: Under 2.5 goals

Odds: 8/11 @ 888sport

Hoping to extend their buffer in the play-off places on Wednesday night, Luton will welcome Bristol City to Kenilworth Road.

Starting with the hosts, last seen over the weekend putting in another stellar display, Luton have once again gained a string of plaudits from across the Championship this season. Eventually claiming a 1-0 victory away at automatic promotion contenders Sheffield United, Rob Edwards’ side are sat in pole position to claim another shock play-off spot in 2023. Opening March with another 1-0 win at home against Swansea, the mood around Kenilworth Road remains at a red-hot high. Collecting 10 points from their last four Championship showdowns, the Hatters will be looking to lay down another top-six marker here. Recording a clean sheet in three of their previous four second-tier appearances, it should also be noted that Luton have conceded just 34 Championship strikes this season – the second-best defensive tally in England’s second-tier.

As for the visitors, managing to make a welcomed return to winning ways last weekend as they claimed a 2-0 victory at home against Blackpool, Nigel Pearson’s side will now be seeking some recent stability. Bagging just a single win from their last four domestic appearances across all formats, the one-time Watford boss almost finds his side sat in Championship limbo. Simply looking to try and find a route into the top-half, the Robins could be set for another tricky test on Wednesday night. However, despite being tipped as an outside pick when they travel to Bedfordshire, Pearson’s men should be boosted by their most recent meeting against the play-off contenders. When Bristol City welcomed Luton to Ashton Gate for their reverse meeting on August 16th, the midweek guests claimed a 2-0 win in front of their own supporters.

Bet: Under 2.5 goals at Luton vs Bristol City 8/11 for Wednesday’s Championship battle @ 888sport
