Competition: FA Cup

Market: Manchester United win

Odds: 1/2 @ 888sport

In an all-Premier League showdown on Friday night, Manchester United will look to extend on their FA Cup adventure when they welcome Everton to Old Trafford.

Starting with the hosts, putting in another rampant display earlier in the week as they cruised their way to a 3-0 romp against Bournemouth on home soil, Manchester United are enjoying quite the purple patch. With Erik ten Hag’s side continuing to gain a string of plaudits, the former Ajax boss has his sights set on clinching a Champions League return in 2023. Breaking into the top-four and now winning each of their three Premier League matchups since returning from the World Cup break, the English heavyweights should find the mood in their camp at a real high. With just a sole domestic defeat to their name since way back on October 2nd, United have also impressed with their new-found resolve at the back. It should be highlighted, ten Hag’s side have now recorded a clean sheet in each of their last four domestic contests.

As for the visitors, while Everton might have managed to sign off 2022 with a shock 1-1 draw away at Manchester City, it appears that was just a minor boost for the relegation scrappers. Putting in a woeful display earlier in the week as they were hit with a 4-1 drumming at home against Brighton, there is a huge amount of pressure on Frank Lampard’s shoulder at Goodison Park. Once again at the heart of another bottom-three scrap this season, the Toffees have now failed to land a single Premier League victory from their previous seven attempts. With that worrying rut stemming all the way back to October 22nd, Everton will be bracing themselves for a huge FA Cup challenge on Friday night. Hit with a 2-1 loss when they welcomed United to Merseyside for a top-flight showdown three months ago, we’re backing a similar outcome here.

Bet: Manchester United 1/2 to beat Everton in Friday’s FA Cup tie @ 888sport
