Bitesize Prediction: Operário vs CRB – 06/07/22

Competition: Brazil Serie B

Market: Under 2.5 goals

Odds: 1/2 @ 888sport

Two sides who find themselves seeking some stability in midweek, Operário will welcome CRB to the Morenão in the early hours of Wednesday.

Starting with the hosts, making an immediate return to losing ways last week, Operário have failed to build off of their May purple patch. Last seen getting hit with a deserved 2-0 loss against Brusque on the road, Head Coach Celso Rodrigues has now seen his side win just one of their last five Serie B matchups. With it looking like their 2-1 victory against Chapecoense on June 27th was just a minor boost, the Campo Grande-based outfit will be desperate to not get dragged into a relegation scrap. However, while the Galo might be in the midst of an extended rut, they should be boosted by a rather eye-catching record against Wednesday’s guests. Claiming a 2-1 victory when they welcomed CRB to the Morenão on Serie B duties last season, it should be noted that Rodrigues’ men have taken seven points from their last three meetings against the Whites.

As for the visitors, throwing away a late lead last weekend and having to settle for a 1-1 draw at home against Guarani, CRB have gained the reputation as a stalemate specialist. While Head Coach Marcelo Cabo might find his side in the midst of a five-match unbeaten run, the Alagoas-based outfit have now played out a draw in three of their last four Serie B matchups. Opening up Wednesday’s showdown at the Morenão just about hanging onto their spot in the top-half, CRB should be looking to lay down a marker here if they’re to make any kind of charge for the promotion places. Suffering just a single defeat from any of their previous nine outings across all formats, a run that stems back to May 14th, we could be in for a cagey affair here. With Cabo’s side seeing eight of those nine matchups finish with under 2.5 goals, we’re backing a similar outcome.

Bet: Under 2.5 goals at Operário vs CRB 1/2 for Wednesday’s Brazil Serie B matchup @ 888sport
