Competition: Serie B

Market: Parma win

Odds: 6/7 @ 888sport

Two sides who find themselves battling it out at opposite ends of the Serie B table, Parma will welcome Benevento to the Stadio Ennio Tardini on Thursday lunchtime.

Starting with the hosts, left disappointed over the weekend as they had to settle for a 1-1 draw away at Cagliari, Parma have the feel of a side seeking some recent stability. However, although Fabio Pecchia’s men might have only won one of their previous four outings, the Crusaders have their sights set on clinching a Serie A return this season. Still tipped as a leading contender in the play-off hunt, the former Cremonese boss has seen his side largely continue to impress on home soil. In fact, it should be highlighted, Parma have mustered 12 points from their last five Serie B showdowns at the Stadio Ennio Tardini – a run that stems back to September 10th. Looking to make up some ground in the automatic promotion chase on Thursday lunchtime, Pecchia’s men should be smelling a chance here.

As for the visitors, while Benevento might have claimed their own play-off finish last season, Fabio Cannavaro’s men have failed to keep up that momentum this time around. Last seen over the weekend putting in a flat display as they were hit with a 1-0 loss at home against Palermo, the Sorcerers are at the heart of a relegation scrap. Making the trip to the Stadio Ennio Tardini on Thursday lunchtime sat in the drop zone, the Campania-based outfit will know that they face a tough task here. Although the Giallorossi might have claimed a 2-1 victory against Spal last month, it appears that was just a minor boost for Benevento. Mustering just a single win from any of their previous 11 matchups across all formats – a run that stems all the way back to September 3rd – Cannavaro’s side are seeking a much-needed boost.

Bet: Parma 6/7 to beat Benevento in Thursday’s Serie B battle @ 888sport
