Bitesize Prediction: Perugia vs Cagliari – 05/05/23

Tom Dunstan in Betting Tips and News 4 May 2023

Competition: Serie B

Market: Cagliari draw no bet

Odds: 8/11 @ 888sport

Hoping to pick up back-to-back Serie B victories on Friday night, Cagliari to the Stadio Renato Curi when they meet a struggling Perugia.

Starting with the hosts, missing out on what was a golden opportunity last week as they eventually had to settle for a 1-1 draw away at Spal, Perugia find themselves in the midst of a major Serie B struggle. Firmly at the heart of a relegation scrap and still tipped as one of the leading relegation contenders in 2023, Fabrizio Castori’s men have come under a huge amount of scrutiny this season. Only showing a string of issues on either side of March’s international break, the Umbria-based outfit have mustered just a single win from any of their last 10 Serie B appearances – a run that stems all the way back to February 18th. With their recent issues highlighted by a 3-1 drumming at home against Reggina on April 5th, Perugia will know that they should face another tough challenge on Friday night. Bagging just a single strike in any of their last four straight second-tier outings, it’s also worth highlighting that Castori’s side have failed to claim a single win on home soil since the middle of February.

As for the visitors, while Cagliari might have lost their Serie A status last season, it is no secret that the Islanders have their sights firmly set on securing an immediate top-flight return. Making a crucial return to winning ways last time out as they picked up a lively 2-1 victory at home against Ternana, Claudio Ranieri’s men find themselves sat just three points adrift of breaking into the top-four. Tipped as one of the leading contenders to claim a play-off spot this season, the one-time Leicester boss should be smelling the chance for his side to lay down another promotion marker on Friday night. Suffering just a single Serie B defeat from any of their last 12 appearances – a run that stems back to February 2nd – Cagliari should also be excited by their stellar record against the relegation scrappers. Eventually claiming a 3-2 win when they welcomed Perugia to the Unipol Domus for their reverse meeting on December 11th, we are backing an away draw no bet this weekend.

Bet: Cagliari draw no bet against Perugia 8/11 for Friday’s Serie B showdown @ 888sport
