Competition: League One

Market: Charlton double chance

Odds: 8/13 @ 888sport

Hoping to make up some ground in the League One play-off chase on Saturday afternoon, Charlton will make the trip to Port Vale.

Starting with the hosts, while Port Vale might have secured a shock League One promotion last season, Darrell Clarke’s men are enduring a recent wobble. Last seen putting in a nightmare display as they were blown away thanks to a 4-0 drumming away at Oxford, the Stoke-based outfit have come tumbling down the table. With some around Vale Park fearing that their side could be dragged into a relegation scrap, the Valiants have picked up just a single victory from any of their last five outings. Likewise, suffering an action-packed 3-2 loss at home against Exeter earlier in the month, Port Vale have shown some recent issues at the back. In fact, it should be highlighted that Saturday’s hosts have shipped at least a pair of strikes in four of their previous five League One matchups.

As for the visitors, last seen having to settle for what was an action-packed 3-3 draw away at Burton, Ben Garner’s side will be looking to make an immediate return to winning ways here. Despite watching their three-match winning run come to an end last weekend, the Addicks have their sights set on making up some ground in the play-off chase. Losing just one of their previous 10 matchups across all formats – a run that stems all the way back to October 4th – Charlton should be excited by their recent free-scoring displays. Including a remarkable 4-4 draw at home against promotion contenders Ipswich last month, Saturday’s hosts have now racked up seven strikes in their back-to-back League One appearances. Looking to move within touching distance of the top-six, we’re backing an away double chance here.

Bet: Charlton double chance against Port Vale 8/13 for Saturday’s League One matchup @ 888sport
