Hoping to find a much-needed boost on Thursday night, Club Brugge will make the trip to the Stayen when they meet St. Truiden.

Starting with the hosts, while St. Truiden might have missed out on a top-eight finish last season, Bernd Hollerbach’s men are desperate to go one-step further this time around. Making an immediate return to winning ways last weekend as they claimed a rugged 2-0 victory away at Eupen, the Canaries have continued to shine on either side of the World Cup break. Marking their return from the festive interval with a stunning performance as they cruised their way to a 4-1 romp against Thursday’s guests, St. Truiden could be smelling the chance to spring another upset in midweek. In fact, Hollerbach’s side have lost just a pair of their last 10 straight domestic matchups across all formats – a run that stems all the way back to October 19th. Likewise, last seen at the Stayen claiming a 2-0 win against Zulte Waregem, the Yellows are unbeaten on home soil since the start of October.

As for the visitors, shocking many last month as they appointed ex-Fulham boss Scott Parker, Club Brugge still find themselves in the midst of another worrying rut. Left disappointed last weekend after having to settle for a 1-1 draw at home against Anderlecht, the Belgium giants are yet to pick up a single post-World Cup victory. Marking their return to action with that woeful 4-1 drumming against Thursday’s opponents on December 21st, Parker could already have some growing pressure on his shoulders. Opening 2023 with another dreadful display as they slumped to a 3-1 loss away at Genk, Brugge have also claimed just a single Jupiler Pro victory away from the Jan Breydel since September 10th. With the former Belgium champions continuing to show some rather glaring defensive issues, we’re backing what could be an enjoyable affair.

Bet: Over 1.5 goals at St. Truiden vs Club Brugge 4/11 for Thursday’s Jupiler Pro battle @ 888sport
