Competition: League Two

Market: Tranmere win

Odds: 19/20 @ 888sport

Hoping to briefly break into the play-off places on Friday night, Tranmere will welcome Crewe to Prenton Park when this weekend’s League Two fixtures get underway.

Starting with the hosts, last seen putting in another impressive display as they picked up a deserved 2-0 victory away at Sutton, Tranmere are enjoying a real purple patch. Breaking into the top-half of the League Two table and knowing that three points here would skyrocket them into the play-off places, Micky Mellon’s men have now won five of their last six matchups across all formats. With that stellar run of form stemming all the way back to September 13th, the Rovers should be smelling another golden chance on Friday night. It should also be noted, last seen at Prenton Park on League Two duties claiming a 1-0 win against Barrow on October 1st, Tranmere have collected nine points from their previous four showdowns in front of their own supporters. Riding a real wave of momentum, Mellon’s high-flying squad are rightfully tipped as a standout pick.

As for the visitors, while Crewe might have managed to come from behind as they picked up a 1-1 draw at home against Gillingham last weekend, it doesn’t cover what has been a downbeat run of form. Freefalling their way out of the top-half of the League Two table, Alex Morris’ men have now picked up just a single win from any of their previous nine matchups across all formats, With their worrying blip stemming all the way back to the middle of August, the Cheshire-based outfit have also shown some extended problems on the road. With their issues underlined by a 4-1 drumming away at Bolton, Crewe are in the midst of a six-match winless run away from Gresty Road. Hit with a 1-0 loss when they last faced off against Tranmere back in 2019, we’re backing a similar outcome on Friday night.

Bet: Tranmere 19/20 to beat Crewe in Friday’s League Two matchup @ 888sport
