Competition: A-League

Market: Over 1.5 goals

Odds: 4/11 @ 888sport

Two sides who find themselves battling it out at opposite ends of the A-League table, Western Sydney will make the trip to Perth on Friday morning.

Starting with the hosts, while Perth might have managed to claim a much-needed 2-1 victory at home against Western United on December 10th, it appears that was just a minor boost for the A-League strugglers. Putting in another downbeat display last time out as they opened 2023 with a 2-0 loss away at Adelaide, Ruben Zadkovich’s side find themselves sat rock-bottom of the table and tipped as a standout pick to once again lift the wooden spoon. Recording just a sole A-League victory from their last six attempts – a run that stems back to October 22nd – Perth should be glad to make a return to home soil here. Last seen in front of their own supporters playing out a rugged 1-1 draw against Wellington, the Glory are unbeaten in their previous four matchups at Macedonia Park.

As for the visitors, managing to make what was a welcomed return to winning ways on December 31st as they claimed a thumping 4-0 romp at home against Macarthur, Western Sydney will be desperate to lay down another marker here. However, while the Wanderers might appear in pole position to claim a top-two finish this season, Mark Rudan’s side do have the feel of a squad seeking some stability. Winning just a pair of their previous six A-League showdowns, the one-time Wellington boss has also seen his men show some recent issues on the road. Last seen on their travels playing out a 1-1 draw against Brisbane, Western Sydney are without a win from their last three showdowns away from the CommBank Stadium. In a contest that could see chances come thick and fast, we’re backing both teams to find the net.

Bet: Over 1.5 goals at Perth Glory vs Western Sydney Wanderers 4/11 for Friday’s A-League battle @ 888sport
