Millie Bright has extended her contract with Chelsea until June 2026, with the option of a further year.
The captain, whose current deal was set to run out at the end of this season, is Chelsea’s longest-serving player, recently surpassing a decade at the club, having joined from Doncaster Belles in December 2014.
Bright has made 280 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, with 165 of those coming in the Women’s Super League.
She has won seven WSL titles, five FA Cup medals, two League Cup trophies and the Community Shield with the Blues, while she also helped the club reach the Champions League final in 2020-21.
Earlier this season, Bright also became the player with the most WSL wins in the competition’s history – she has now won 132 matches in the league.
The future is Bright.

“Representing this club and continuing our journey together was never a question to me,” Bright told the club’s media channels.
“This club is my home. Chelsea runs through me. The legacy continues.”
Chelsea are currently top of the WSL table with six games remaining, eight points ahead of second-place Manchester United, who have a game in hand.
The Blues are looking to win a sixth consecutive WSL title, and their first under Sonia Bompaster, with Bright excited about her future under the Frenchwoman.
“Sonia [Bompastor] has come in and has challenged us all on new levels. Every player is developing and no matter your age or how long you’ve been here, everyone is improving and getting better.
“It’s exciting to know the ceiling is not set. We’ve moved it to a whole new level. That’s really exciting to know there’s more to come.”
