Brown: Hull will regain form

Phil Brown has called on his players to regain form and bounce back in the race, the next being a home fixture with Portsmouth on Saturday.

After a bright start to Premier League life last season, the Tigers held the 3rd place having played nine matches with six wins while this term they are down to the 18th with two wins.

“We’ve got to grind results out,” Brown told the club’s official website.

“This time last year everybody was talking about our tremendous away form and our home form not being so clever. This season the shoe seems to be on the other foot. We seem to be more of a threat at home and defensively more solid.”

In their last fixture against Fulham, the Tigers were never really at the race and Jimmy Bullard’s introduction couldn’t do much good with his entry only during the second half.

“I’m not saying the goals we conceded were inexcusable, but they were poor from a defensive point of view,” adds Brown.

“It’s a massive game for us now on Saturday against Portsmouth. If we can produce a solid defensive display, I know we have enough talent in the side to win the game.”
