Burnley 5/4 to beat Norwich in Saturday’s Premier League showdown

Competition: Premier League

Market: Burnley win

Odds: 5/4 @ 888sport

Handed a real opportunity to extend on their recent purple patch, Burnley will make the trip to a downbeat Carrow Road on Saturday evening.

Starting with the hosts, hit with a 1-0 loss away at Stamford Bridge earlier in the week and already sacrificing their Premier League status, Norwich have been nothing short of abysmal since returning from the enforced break. Including a 4-0 drumming at home against relegation scrappers West Ham in East Anglia last weekend, Daniel Farke’s men have lost their last nine straight contests across all formats and have continued on a dreadful run of form in the final third. Failing to record a single shot on target against a fragile Chelsea defence in midweek, the former Borussia Dortmund coach has seen his side remarkably find the net just once in just over 750 minutes of Premier League action. Hit with a 2-0 defeat when they made the trip to Lancashire earlier in the season, Norwich could be in for another long evening this weekend.

As for the visitors, while the mood around Carrow Road might remain at a constant low, the same cannot be said for a high-flying Burnley. Still dreaming of mounting a stunning late charge for the top-six, Sean Dyche’s side once again showed their usual resolve in midweek. Snatching late back-to-back equalizers against Wolves and newly-crowned champions Liverpool, the Clarets are unbeaten in their last six Premier League matchups. Glad to see a returning Chris Wood find the net from the spot earlier in the week, Dyche will be hugely excited by his side’s performances away from Turf Moor. Including a 2-1 win away at Old Trafford prior to the enforced break, Burnley have lost just one of their last seven contests on the road.
