Burnley keen on Judge bid

Sky Sports understands that Burnley are lining up and £8m raid on Championship rivals Brentford for midfielder Alan Judge.

The Clarets are looking to strengthen as they hope to seal a return to the Premier League after a two-year absence and manager Sean Dyche has identified Judge as his number one target.

Sheffield Wednesday had a bid for the 27-year-old turned down last week as it failed to meet the Bess’ valuation.

The Republic of Ireland international moved to Griffin Park from Blackburn Rovers initially on loan in January 2014 and has so far racked up eighty-eight appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring twenty goals – a tally that includes ten league goals this term.

Internationally, he has represented the Republic of Ireland at every level from U18s to U23s while he was named in the senior squad for the Euro 2016 qualifying play-off first leg against Bosnia and Herzegovina but was an unused substitute.
