Desperate to refind their winning touch in Los Angeles, Western leaders LAFC will welcome Houston to the Banc of California Stadium in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Starting with the hosts, while Los Angeles might be ending their season with a minor struggle, Bob Bradley’s men have all but confirmed their spot as Western champions. Already holding a 15-point buffer over the chasing pack, one man who has continued to spearhead their charge is leading marksman, Carlos Vela. Once again finding the net in LAFC’S 1-1 draw with Toronto over the weekend, the former Arsenal striker has already bagged an outstanding 29 MLS goals this season and is in pole position to claim the Golden Boot in his debut campaign in America’s top-tier. It is also worth noting that the Mexican international has found the net in each of his last six consecutive appearances.

As for the visitors, while Houston may have managed to pick up a morale-boosting 2-1 win over Orlando last weekend, it would take an astonishing end to the campaign for Davy Arnaud’s men to land a play-off spot. Sat seven points adrift of the top-seven in the Western Conference, their major problems this season has come down to their continued struggles outside of Texas. Including a 5-1 hammering away at Dallas last month, Thursday’s guests have lost their last five consecutive matches on the road. Also failing to record a single clean sheet on the road since September 2018, Thursday’s trip could prove to be another long session for Houston.
