Celtic 3/5 to beat Rennes in Thursday’s Europa League matchup

Competition: Europa League

Market: Celtic win

Odds: 3/5 @ Bet 365

Continuing on what has been a stellar run of form, a high-flying Celtic will welcome Group E whipping boys Rennes to Glasgow on Thursday night.

Starting with the hosts, putting in yet another dominant display and picking up a 4-0 win over Livingston over the weekend, Neil Lennon’s men have continued on what has been a stellar run of form. Once again sat at the top of the Premiership and winning each of their last eight matches on the bounce, Celtic have arguably saved their best performances for European duties. Once again pulling off a famous turnaround and landing back-to-back victories over Italian giants Lazio, including a 2-1 win away at the Stadio Olimpico earlier in the month, Thursday’s hosts should be confident of extending their winning run in midweek.

As for the visitors, putting in yet another sluggish display in their 2-1 defeat away at Dijon last weekend, Head Coach Julien Stéphan is coming under increasing scrutiny. Really struggling while on European duties and losing their last three Group E matches on the bounce, the French outfit have failed to pick up a single Europea League victory this season. It should also be noted that Rennes are gaining an increasing reputation for their lackluster displays away from Roazhon Park. Les Rennais have lost each of their last four straight matches on the road and they have not recorded an away victory since the end of August.
