Celtic star not ready to leave Parkhead

Talk Sport is today reporting that Victor Wanyama, a target for Manchester United is happy at Celtic right now and no intention of leaving the club just yet.

The Kenyan was linked with a move to Old Trafford back in the summer transfer window, but a deal was never agreed. That does not mean that Sir Alex Ferguson has given up on signing him though and he could make a second attempt in the January transfer window.

Wanyama has been very impressive during his spell at the Scottish Premier League and at just 21-years-old, he does have bags of potential.

However, Neil Lennon is ready to do all he can to keep the midfielder at Parkhead and it is thought it will take a big bid from United to secure his services.

Not only that, Wanyama insists that he does not want to leave the Bhoys and that they will not be able to just sell him.

He said: “They cannot just let me go as easily as many people think.

“All in all am happy here and looking forward to continue playing for them as I work hard in my career.”

This is sure to please everyone at Celtic. If they are to go far in the Champions League this campaign and continue to win domestic trophies, then Wanyama is just the kind of player they need to keep hold of.

When United come knocking though, it can be tough to say no.

We shall see.
