Chelsea in for Isco

Chelsea sold Eden Hazard to Real Madrid in the summer, and it looks like they are ready to try and pull a transfer in the opposite direction in January. According to Sky Sports, who quote sources from Spain, the Londoners are ready to pay €50 million for Isco.

Isco has been at Real for over six years now, but his place in the starting XI has always been in doubt. On the other hand, Chelsea are looking to add some attacking creativity to their squad with Hazard gone, and both Willian and Pedro Rodriguez over 30 years of age. They weren’t able to make any signings in the summer due to the two-window transfer ban they were imposed with, but the sentence has been halved and they are free to sign players in January.

Chelsea may face competition for the 27-year-old playmaker from Arsenal, though the Gunners’ new boss Mikel Arteta is believed to have limited transfer funds at his disposal which may deter them from making a serious approach for Isco.
