Chelsea move for Pjanic?

Chelsea have joined the race to sign Miralem Pjanic from Juventus this summer, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The midfielder has reportedly been a target for Barcelona for a while now, but the Catalans have been having difficulties in getting a deal over the line. They don’t have significant funds at their disposal for new players, and they’ve been looking to agree a swap deal involving Arthur Melo, who would be going the other way. However, the Brazilian has so far been very reluctant to make the switch, and he apparently told the club’s hierarchy so.

And just like with Timo Werner, whom Chelsea appear to have taken under the very nose of Liverpool, they’ve now swooped to sign the Bosnia and Herzegovina international and thwart the efforts of the La Liga champions. Having been under a transfer ban last summer and had a completely quiet January too, the Londoners now have the funds generated from the sale of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid to spend, potentially rising to €150 million.
