Chelsea unlikely to sign Higuain permanently

According to a recent report from Tuttosport, Chelsea are unlikely to sign Gonzalo Higuain on a permanent deal during the summer transfer window. The 31 year old is expected to draw a great deal of interest from a series of top European clubs in the summer, but it doesn’t appear as if the Blues will be one of them. Higuain is currently at Stamford Bridge on loan having joined during the January window, but hasn’t quite been able to find the kind of consistency that you’d expect of such a high level striker. He’s had a decent enough goals to game ratio in the Premier League, but his work ethic up to this point has been questioned.

One of the primary reasons behind his move to Chelsea seemed to be reconnecting with Maurizio Sarri, but there’s a strong chance that Sarri won’t be in charge next season if things continue to turn sour.
