Chelsea want Lewandowski

Despite signing Gonzalo Higuain on loan from Juventus in January, Chelsea still seem to be looking for a proven striker and according to the Mirror, they have their eyes on Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich.

Certainly one of the finest goal machines in the world, the Polish international has so far bagged 127 goals in 153 Bundesliga games since joining Bayern in 2013. Prior to that, he scored 74 for their biggest rivals Borussia Dortmund, and now he surpassed the 200-mark in total by scoring a brace against his old club in the 100th Der Klassiker on Saturday.

Chelsea have apparently made contact with Lewandowski’s representatives, believing there will be a major squad overhaul at the Allianz Arena this summer, but even though the striker will turn 31 in August, they’ve been told that it would cost somewhere in the region of £70 million to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

The same report also claims Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is keen on a reunion with a player he once managed at Dortmund but hasn’t yet made any inquiry, while Chelsea are also looking at 19-year-old Alexander Isak of Dortmund, currently on loan with Dutch side Willem II.
