Cristiano Ronaldo 7/5 to score anytime against Germany in Saturday’s European Championship showdown

Competition: European Championships

Market: Cristiano Ronaldo to score anytime

Odds: 7/5 @ 888sport

Looking to make it back-to-back Group F wins on Saturday evening, defending champions Portugal will face off against Germany in Munich this weekend.

Starting with Portugal, while they might have left it late against Hungary on foreign soil earlier in the week, the defending European champions opened up their Group F campaign with a 3-0 win. Knowing that victory over their fellow former world champions would put them in the knockout stage, Head Coach Fernando Santos would have also been glad to see his attacking icon open his own account on Tuesday. Eventually grabbing himself a brace in Budapest, Cristiano Ronaldo has only continued on another record-breaking campaign with Italian giants Juventus. While the five-time Ballon d’Or winner might have failed to guide The Old Lady to the Serie A crown once again this season, the 36-year-old has already landed 42 goals for club and country this season and should be looking to lay down another marker this weekend.

As for Germany, while The Whites might have signed off their pre-tournament preparations with a 7-1 win against Latvia, Joachim Löw’s side really failed to keep up that momentum when opening their Group F campaign earlier in the week. Putting in a sluggish display at the Allianz Arena and eventually hit with what was a deserved 1-0 loss against France, the three-time European champions have only continued to show a host of issues over the past three years. Still showing the same problems that haunted them in the 2018 World Cup out in Russia, Germany have managed to win just five of their last 14 matchups across all formats. With their problems highlighted by that stunning 2-1 defeat against North Macedonia in March’s World Cup qualifiers, Löw’s side might face another stern test on home soil this weekend.
